Learning Strategy For Survival Knowledge:

Learning Survival Knowledge is Essential in knowing how and when to adapt or Improvise. In addition how to survive with or without gear. Therefore the main key to any type of survival situation is survival knowledgeknowledge and it is the first of the 7 fundamentals of survival. In other words, it is the master-key to all fundamentals of survival.

So the main goal of survival knowledge is to “know something about everything and everything about something”. Therefore, the more skills that you can master will greatly increase your survival odds for any SHTF situation. Also, Learning Survival knowledge quickly is essential to master as many skills as you can because time may be shorter than we think.

“Knowledge is a weapon. I intend to be formidably armed.”― Terry Goodwin

Our goal in Learning Survival knowledge is to prepare for an SHTF event as quickly as possible. There is no quick fix or hack that will increase your knowledge. Therefore It must be applied because we acquire knowledge through things we have learned or experienced. However, there are Principles, and fundamentals, that will help increase your knowledge quickly. Therefore this particular strategy has scientific research proven to increase your learning and knowledge. So, to do this we start with the 7 fundamentals of learning.

The 7 Fundamentals of Learning

Listen, Read, and watch to learn.     learning
1. Listen
2. Read
3. Watch
4. Demo
5. Discuss
6. Practice
7. Teach
So what we have are the fundamentals of learning. And if we research each fundamental we can see what percentage of learning that we keep. To summarize the numbers (which sometimes get cited differently) learners retain about:

• 5% of what they learn when they’ve learned from listening. (LISTEN)
• 10% of what they learn when they’ve learned from reading. (READ)
• 20% of what they learn from audio-visual. (WATCH)
• 30% of what they learn when they see a demonstration. (DEMO)
• 50% of what they learn when engaged in a group discussion. (DISCUSS)
• 75% of what they learn when they practice what they learned. (PRACTICE)
• 90% of what they learn when they teach someone else/use immediately. (TEACH)

Now with the fundamentals in place for learning skills, let us build the principles to master the skill that we are learning.

The 3 Principles to Survival Knowledge

1. LEARN: Listen, Read, watch, See(Demo), and discuss.
2. APPLY: PRACTICE, PRACTICE, PRACTICE. This is a must do. no ifs, and’s, or buts! Practice makes perfect.
3. TEACH: Show or explain to (someone) how to do something.

Above all, I’m going to discuss a few reasons why practice is important to mastering skills. First, the only way to truly learn a skill is by actually doing what you’ll have to do in the real world. Secondly, I think practice can be a fun way for some family time. There are, however, some people will disagree. And third, and most importantly, it is said that people tend to remember only 10-20% of what they read or hear. Most noteworthy, that number rises to as much as 90% when you put a theory to practice.

In conclusion, the next time you pick up a book or watch a video, remember this. Listening or reading something is just listening or reading. It’s not really learning. Real learning comes from making mistakes. Mistakes come from implementation. As a result, you retain 90% of everything you learn.

“Knowledge rests not upon truth alone, but upon error also.”― Carl Gustav Jun

Camping to Learn and Teach

First of all, what better place for learning survival knowledge than camping.camping Go camping as often as possible and practice your outdoor survival skills. Teach your family the survival skills they need to survive. Learning survival skills together as a family is a unique opportunity for some great family time. As a result, teaching your spouse or children the lost art of survival will help build character for the family. In addition to that, you get to practice your skill in a natural setting. The same applies to when you go hunting. You can discuss, share, practice and teach each other outdoor or hunting skills and then apply them while your there.

Practice Makes Perfect”

CONCLUSION:

The 3 main elements of Survival are Water, Food, and Fire. Above all else, you better Master at least these 3 elements or nothing else will matter.
In addition, I know way too many people who are so-called “PREPPERS” that have a ton of books on survival but have yet to read any of them. They have all kinds of toys, gadgets, gear, and have never used any of it and do not even know how to use it. Still in the package. Waiting for the day it will be needed. So they’re going to learn on the fly. Can you imagine walking through the woods holding a book and looking for whatever plants you can eat or holding instructions trying to figure out how to use a striker to start a fire? And its raining? The results will be their downfall and most likely their death.
